Decisions Decisions

Forced to choose between two loves. I know it must happen at some point, but fate can be cruel some times. Weeks go by, without a blip on the entertainment horizon, the last Roar home game and Gaslight Radio's excellent show at the Zoo fading into memory and now this... Not only do the Socceroos play in Brisvegas Saturday night, but the Church play their first fully electric show in oh, quite some time- all on the SAME NIGHT! Nothing's ever 'sposed to happen in this town- and now all this at once. Oh cruel trickster of fate, you taunt me mercilessly- my depleted store of Pacfic Peso's cannot possibly stretch this far.

I was forced to show my hand early, not even an informed choice afforded to me. The thin tendrils of smoke from SparkleCard (TM) had only began to dissipate from my instinctive lurch towards Suncorp when the Football Family had triggered my reflex instincts with a possie of World Cup types promising a football spectacle of a kind not seen in sleepy old Brissytown for quite a few siesta's with a buncho South American twinkle-toed virtuosity to boot... When, through those whispered underground networks began to hint that another possie of Pharmokoi:Distance Crunching Honchos with Echo Units + MWP's arsenal o' Rikenbachers & firey fingertips were coming to lay waste with two hours of reverb-drenched madness. And I had the parents in tow.

It was then, with a resigned sense of the inevitable, that I was forced to curb that emotional knee-jerk response of "I must have it all now" impulse-buying-damn-the-consequences affluenza and let the cold hard rationalism of the choice i had made set in. Not that I'm really complaining you see, 'cause I got to see a great game and there will be many more times to see the Church in old Brisvegas Entertainment Central (as I said when declining an opportunity to see the Go-B's @ the Tivoli last year....). At least now I can appreciate Old Man Kilbey's vegan Goji Juice slurping ways for evergreen rockin' some later date. And drag out my Live at the Enmore VCR if I feel a need for a fix...

Maybe you can have too much of a good thing. But I'll have to find out some other time...
